The School of Business is pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. Issahaku Haruna to the rank of Professor of Economics and Finance.

Prof. Haruna has distinguished himself as an exceptional scholar, educator, and leader in his field. His extensive experience and accomplishments include:

• Current service as Vice Dean of the School of Business
• Over 18 years of teaching, training, community outreach, and research experience
• Recognition as a top-tier researcher, ranked among the top 25% by IDEAS, a central index of economics and finance research
• An extensive publication record with significant contributions to academic literature
• Former Head of Department of Economics at the erstwhile Faculty of Integrated Development Studies (FIDS) in Wa
• International Visiting Scholar at Covenant University, Nigeria

Prof. Haruna's expertise spans development finance and economic development, with current research focusing on remittances, digital economy, financial inclusion, agricultural finance, and inclusive development. His consultancy experience includes work with prestigious organizations such as:

Bank of Ghana, Star Ghana Foundation, CCFC, Oxfam, AGREDS, CIKOD, WFP, Methodist Agricultural Project (MAP), Ghana Statistical Service, UNDP, African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), Ministry of Finance, Copenhagen Consensus Centre, and SNV Netherlands Development Organization.

Prof. Haruna's academic background is equally impressive:

• PhD in Finance from the University of Ghana
• Master of Philosophy in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ghana
• Completed coursework for Master of Philosophy in Finance at the University of Ghana Business School
• BSc in Agricultural Technology (Agricultural Economics & Extension option) from the University for Development Studies, graduating with First Class Honours

Throughout his career, Prof. Haruna has demonstrated a strong commitment to mentorship, having supervised numerous PhD, Masters, and undergraduate students to successful completion of their studies.

This promotion reflects Prof. Haruna's outstanding academic achievements, his dedication to excellence in teaching and research, and his valuable contributions to our institution and the broader academic community.
