MSc. Development Finance

MSc Development Finance covers the macro, sectoral, and enterprise levels of financial analysis of current issues as well as knowledge of key financial concepts for designing innovative funding mechanisms for developing and emerging economies. The programme analyses the formal and informal financial sectors, institutional architecture, financial reforms, and strategies to encourage financial inclusion. The utilisation of case studies will demonstrate the MSc. Development Finance's significant emphasis is on practice-oriented learning. Additionally, the curriculum includes a master's dissertation that is focused on the industry. After completing the programme, students will be expected to have a stronger commitment to the public good and the development agenda.

 

The MSc Development Finance is a sandwich programme delivered during two third-trimester breaks at the University. This is between July and September.

Admission Requirements:

Candidates for admission into the MSc programme must satisfy the following requirements:

  • A good first degree (at least Second Class Lower) in Commerce, Marketing, Procurement, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other related degree from a recognised University.
  • A good first degree in an area not related to business studies from a recognised university with at least 2 years of working experience in a business
  • Candidate shall be interviewed or be required to take an entrance examination.
  • Foreign applicants will be assessed based on GTEC’s evaluation of their qualifications.
