MSc. Accounting and Finance

If you want to become a professional accountant, this MSc is the course for you. We have developed this master's course in response to student demand for a higher-level qualification to enhance career prospects and professional development in accounting and finance. The course has a strong practical bias. You will learn how to apply theory to practice, and we will expose you to the profession’s latest thinking, techniques and practices. While you are learning the core elements required of accountancy professionals, we will also prepare you for the professional exams set by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the ICA qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana.

The MSc Accounting is a sandwich programme delivered during the two third-trimester breaks of the University. This is between July and September.

Admission Requirements:

Candidates for admission into the MSc programme must satisfy the following requirements:

• A good first degree (at least Second Class Lower) in Commerce, Marketing, Procurement, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other related degree from a recognised University.
• A good first degree in an area not related to business studies from a recognised university with at least 2 years of working experience in a business
• Candidate shall be interviewed or be required to take an entrance examination.
• Foreign applicants will be assessed based on GTEC’s evaluation of their qualifications.
